Today, (9/9/2025) we had a threat of violence, (from within) at Powell County High School. We included law enforcement in the matter and we believe that matter has been resolved. We anticipate an increased law enforcement presence out of an abundance of caution.

You may have noticed our student section dresses up in a theme at all home games of every sport. Our High School Student Council comes up with these themes every year. We'd love to have all students K-12 participate if they are at our games cheering on our hometown Wardens! We will post the theme before every game. Here is this week's theme for our Lady Wardens who are playing this Thursday. Come on out and support our girls!

Did you know? ...................
In 2021, the Montana Legislature passed House Bill 279 that made significant changes to the Innovative Educational Program. Taxpayers can receive a dollar for dollar credit on their State Taxes up to $200,000 for donations made to public schools to support Innovative Educational Programs such as:
Services, Equipment and programs for students with disabilities
Post-Secondary Credit or Career Certifications for High School Students
Technology purchases that improve student opportunities
Work Based Learning Partnerships
This year, the State made $6 million available for credits to taxpayers. This opportunity is on a first come first serve basis and within 1 hour and 12 minutes those credits were claimed. Below are the stats from this years credits and they can also be found on the State's website here https://svc.mt.gov/dor/educationdonation2/Pages/Reports/PublicStats?dt=PSD.
Due to a few donations being invalidated, the State is opening back up credits that can be claimed on September 23rd. If you as an individual taxpayer or business owner are interested in more information on how you can help the students of Deer Lodge Public Schools and also receive a tax credit at the same time, please email our Business Office at oleary.tara@dljuniorhigh.org or pomeroy.leeanne@dljuniorhigh.org.
